Relationship Goals
This past weekend Drew and I went to visit our Grandparents. Well technically they are Drew’s Grandparents but I feel so lucky I get to call them Grams and Pops too! They are the sweetest, and they have welcomed me into their family with so much love. Grams and Pops have been married for 57years and as I look at them I can’t help but think #RelationshipGoals!
I don’t think there is anything wrong with millennials looking at a cute couple online and pointing them out as their relationship goals. Because we’ve all done it myself included. But I also think it’s important to find real-life examples of your relationship goals. Because we all know that social media most of the time is a highlight reel of someone’s life or relationship.
What I find so endearing about Grams and Pops is that they have spent an entire lifetime together. And Grandma is more than willing to share stories of how they met and when they decided to “go steady” (which is a term no one uses anymore and I think it’s a shame.)
Grams told us that on February 7th they’ll be celebrating their 58th anniversary, and guess what? February 7th happens to be our anniversary too! We’re only celebrating 2 years but we have forever to go. It’s so exciting to have something in common with our relationship goal couple.
I love listening to people who are full of wisdom, love, and vitality. They are seriously the best people to take advice from. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned from listening to people who have a lot more life experience than I do, it’s this.
Life is not easy and relationships are not a walk in the park. However, if you stick to your beliefs and fight for who you love, life can be very rewarding.
What about you guys, Who in your real-life gives you serious relationship goals feels? What do you love about them or have learned from them? Share in the comments below.
xoxo

How cute my husband and I had our marriage blessed in the church on Feb 7th. Our first wedding was 10 years before on June 23rd.

…and you two are an inspiration to these “old folks”. We did meet as children, married as best friends and continue to LIKE each other, which is so important. Love and blessings! Grams and Pop
